Idag är det Stockholms dyraste stadsdel. Då var det eländigt och skitigt. Följ med på stadsvandring och upptäck hur Östermalm har gått från lort till lyx!
Tillsammans tar vi oss en promenad genom de centrala delarna av Östermalm, en stadsdel med epitetet ”Sveriges mest fashionabla stadsdel”. I dag är priserna på de mondäna våningarna högst i hela landet. Här lever man i en lugn och respektabel del av Stockholm med eleganta modebutiker, välstädade parker och enkelriktade gator som ger ett tyst och vilsamt gaturum. Annat var det förr!
Här dränker vi katter i viken, köper oss en sommarstuga och förvarar vapen i mjöldammet. Stockholms drägg spelar kronvägg, skurkarna sänker varandra, inbakade i cement eller släckt kalk. Vi promenerar längs eländiga gångstigar, förbi skitiga och illaluktande fiskerier och tvättstugor. Det är bilden vi målar upp under promenaden som tar oss från Nybroplans havsutsikt upp till Östermalmshallens stinna diskar av allehanda matnyttiga basvaror och delikatesser.
