I början på hösten 2019 släppte Judith Kiros sin debutbok ’O’, en omskrivning och tolkning av Shakespeares pjäs Othello. Othello som precis har mördat sin vita hustru och sen begått självmord, porträtteras som den svarta onda mannen, en vanlig företeelse i dagens samhälle. Boken ter sig som en hybrid mellan poesi och essä. 'O' må vara Kiros debut men har sen länge skrivit om frågor rörande svarthet bland annat på den separatistiska plattformen 'Rummet'.
Går det att se på svarthet och kön i Sverige idag genom linsen av en klassiker? Hur skiljer det sig att behandla dessa frågor i prosa kontra som journalist och kritiker?
