Majgull Axelsson är journalist och författare. Född i Landskrona men uppväxt i Nässjö. Som journalist har hon huvudsakligen ägnat sig åt handelspolitik och arbetsmarknad. Hon har skrivit flera dokumentära böcker om tredje världen.
1994 begick Majgull Axelsson sin mycket uppmärksammade skönlitterära debut med romanen Långt borta från Nifelheim. Hennes stora genombrott kom 1997 med Aprilhäxan som belönades med Augustpriset. Bland hennes övriga titlar hittar man Slumpvandring, Moderspassion, Jag heter inte Miriam och Ditt liv och mitt som även den fick ett varmt mottagande.
I april utkommer Svalors flykt där hon ställer frågor om medmänsklighet, skuld och ansvar, om myndigheters inverkan på våra liv, men också om kroppens förhållande till medvetandet och om rätten att få leva sitt liv och att ta makten över sitt öde.
