Description
Welcome to Varberg on Sweden's beautiful west coast for this year's iteration of the Nordic Championships in the two big Living Card Games from Fantasy Flight Games – Android: Netrunner and A Game of Thrones.
We are extremely honoured for the opportunity to host the premier event this year – hopefully with that nice late August sun still shining on us.
The Nordic Championships is a two day event – registration starts at 10AM with the actual tournament starting at 11AM. Swiss rounds and the first rounds of elimination are played out on Saturday while Sunday will be the rest of the elimination rounds and side events. These need to be registered for (on location) but are otherwise included in the ticket price. Side events are Cache Refresh and Melee for Android: Netrunner and A Game of Thrones, respectively. See below for an overview of the schedule, or download it as PDF.
The tournament takes place at Bruket, an event center and restaurant with plenty of space for both game play and for hanging out in between rounds. Bruket is serving lunch which is ordered on location, with several options on the daily menu as well as a la carte. There's a well curated bar, a bowling hall, pool tables, and tons of reasons not to go anywhere else during the weekend!
Top tables in both tournaments will be streamed, so be prepared that your game might be broadcast at any given point during the weekend. We are adhering strictly to FFG's tournament regulations for Premier Events (A:NR, AGoT) – please make sure you've read these in preparation for the event. This includes, among other things, the use of alternative art cards (not allowed) and third party tokens (allowed as long as they don't obscure card text). There's also an additional code of conduct that we expect every participant to have read and respect during the event, making sure everyone have a good time – even during the heat of competition.
Hoping to see a lot of our Nordic region's (and the rest of the world's) finest players for a great weekend of gaming!
