I somras visade vi 90-talsdokumentären Madonna: Truth or Dare på Trädgården, och nu bjuder vi till en fortsättning, en fördjupning där vi för första gången får höra dansarna ‘som blev ikoner för en hel generation’-s historia. Filmen är också ett tidsdokument med deras reflektioner på hur bilden av sex och sexualitet har förändrat under de senaste 25 åren.
När STRIKE A POSE hade sin världspremiär på Berlinale Film Festival fick filmen 25 minuter stående ovasioner , vi är så extremt glada att få bjuda in till Stockholmspremiären!

Madonna arrangerade en audition inför sin stora Blonde Ambition Tour där hon sökte dansare från Vouge-världen. Sex stycken unga män utsågs och blev senare hennes vänner, inspiration och så småningom familj. De unga männen har idag, 25 år senare, vuxit upp och berättar i STRIKE A POSE om hur det var att framträda inför enorma massor av fans där dom helt plötsligt blev förebilder för en helt ny generation av queers.
I en tid när hiv-epidemin skördade många liv. Fördomsfulla rykten spreds som en löpeld om homosexuella och hiv-positiva, och det var en kamp att övervinna skammen samhällsklimatet stämplade dem med.
Madonna tog striden mot AIDS på scen och med sig hade hon sina dansare. Men hade dansarna själva verkligen skrivit upp sig på detta? I denna dokumentär om en dokumentär är det privata fortfarande politiskt.

In 1990, Madonna was looking for dancers who could vogue to join her controversial "Blonde Ambition" tour. The chosen seven young male dancers: Salim, Kevin, Carlton, José, Luis, Gabriel and Oliver, were catapulted to fame. They soon discovered that they were role models in the gay community, though they didn't always feel like it. After a falling out over the outing of Gabriel in the documentary TRUTH OR DARE, through a gay kiss, the group went their separate ways to pursue their professional careers. Now, 25 years later, STRIKE A POSE reunites the surviving dancers for the first time airing long-buried secrets. Moving, captivating and told from the heart, STRIKE A POSE garnered a 25-minute standing ovation at its Berlinale World Premiere.
