Explore the benefits of natural remedies and herbs and how they support well-being so you can add them to your everyday life. During the day, you will go foraging and harvesting for plants, and preparing remedies with them which you will take home with you.
ABOUT THE COURSE
Learn how to use plants and herbal remedies to improve your health and wellbeing on this highly practical one day course. During the day you forage and harvest a variety of herbs from the garden and surrounding nature. Together we make herbal tea, herbal tinctures, oils and salves. We will also talk which herbs are great to harvest and dry for filling your teapots throughout the year. This workshop is very practical, where you get introduce to herbs and get to make a variety of herbal preparations to take home with you.
THE COURSE WILL GIVE YOU
- The ability to identify a range of medicinal herbs, flowers and leaves.
- Introduce you to different properties and uses of herbs.
- Experience in making remedies.
- You will take home herbal preparations you have made and recipes.
THE COURSE IS SUITABLE FOR
Beginners and anyone wishing to deepen their knowledge on remedy making.
TO BRING
- Appropriate clothes for the weather
- A basket or bag for harvesting herbs
- A pair of sharp scissors or knife
- Some clean glass jars (around 300ml)
- Eat before joining or bring sandwiches for lunch. We will make a break with coffee and herbal teas to serve.

Nordiska Örter is a small herb farm situated in Uppsala that promotes the use of wild local plants for food, health and handicraft via workshops to connect people with their local environment and increase their self-sufficiency. Agnes is the founder of Nordiska Örter and the course leader. Agnès Brosset has a PhD in plant ecologist and has always been enthusiastic about sharing her skills and knowledge about plants. She has been crafting with herbs for 6 years, and is a homesteader living totally off grid, foraging, growing vegetables, and preserving foods to be more resilient and to reduce her dependency on grocery suppliers.
