Konceptet
är enkelt: Vi älskar country. Du älskar country. Men framför allt
älskar H. Self country och kommer stå som huvudattraktion när han även
bjuder in hemliga, men välkända, gäster for all things country: Boots,
jeans, säkert linedance, hattar och uppknäppta skjortor.
Det blir svettigt, det blir underbart.
Det är country, det är Hus 7 det är Countryhus!

H.SELF aka Henric Hammarbäck
Med
utgångspunkt i den amerikanska låtskrivartraditionen, inte sällan med
Dallas Frazier som partiell ledstjärna, har Hammarbäck renoverat hemmet i
Telefonplan till att bli Stockholms södra förorters Music Row. Om än i
en rent teoretisk mening, förstås. Debutalbumet Broken Live On visade på
djupgående kvaliteter vad gäller hantverk som musikalisk säkerhet, och
hyllades av såväl Jan Gradvall i Dagens Industri som Kyle ”Trigger”
Coroneos i den ansedda publikationen Saving Country Music. Den
sistnämnde gick så långt att nämna countrymusikens kanske heligaste
figur, Hank Williams, i samma andetag som H. Self. Den 2 mars släpptes
uppföljaren – Country Songs. Ett album som hyllades av såväl press som
en hängiven lyssnarskara.
Country songs speglar det liv som
ligger till grund för raderna på ett säreget vis, där historierna
tillåts berättas som de är, utan försköningar. Den musikaliska
uppbackningen innehar element av den traditionella countryn, men utan
att helt låta sig bindas av genrens ramar. Albumet spelades in i
Kassmyra Country, producerades av Jonas Öhlund och låtarna skrevs till
största del av Henric Hammarbäck, men även gästspel av David Ritschard
återfinns, däribland på spåret ”The Night When Dallas Frazier Died”,
vilken de författat ihop. Ett samarbete som tidigare mynnat ut i låtar
som "Rockbotten", "Än går det vågor" och "Sverigerocken", utgivna av den
sistnämnde.
Utöver sin egen produktion verkar även Hammarbäck
som producent, och som ovan nämnt, låtskrivare åt flertalet akter, inte
sällan tillsammans med Jonas Öhlund från studion Kassmyra Country. Bland
annat Daniel Hollow och Sabina Ddumba. Under hösten arbetade han även
som kurator för musiken till den unisont hyllade musikalen om Dolly
Parton: "9-5 Musikalen", vilken spelas för utsålda hus på Uppsala
stadsteatern.
