Den Danske pianisten Carl Winther är känd som en av de absolut främsta jazzmusikerna i Skandinavien och har blivit en av Göteborgspublikens största favoriter. Carl är son till den världsberömda trumpetaren och kompositören Jens Winther och han började turnera i tidig ålder. Carl har spelat tillsammans med bl.a Billy Hart, Bill Evans, Adam Nussbaum, Markus Strickland, Eliel Lazo, Mads Vinding, Hugo Rasmusen, Tomas Franck, Doug Raney, Fredrik Kronkvist, Afonso Corea för att bara nämna några.
Hans förmåga som pianist är hisnande och exceptionell. Han är utbildad inom jazz och klassisk musik med en stark kärlek till latinska och afrikanska rytmer. Han har besökt UtopiaJazz vid ett flertal tillfällen då tillsammans med prominenta Amerikanska storheter så som exempelvis Jerry Bergonzi, Walt Weiskopf och Rick Margitza och succén har varit fullständig. Det är med stor förväntan vi ser fram emot att få höra Carl Winther två kvällar på raken på UtopiaJazz med sin egen trio.
