Den isländska världsmusikgruppen Byzantine Silhouette är kända för sina eldiga tolkningar av balkanmusik. Vi får under konserten uppleva grekiska, makedonska, bulgariska och turkiska sånger som med sina asymmetriska beats, melodier och virtuositet vävs samman till en fantastisk cocktail av österländsk mystik.
Bandet med fyra medlemmar från Island och två från Europa bildades i mitten av 2010.
Haukur Gröndal - klarinett, Ásgeir Ásgeirsson - tamboura, bouzouki, saz och oud,
Þorgrímur Jónsson - bas och Erik Qvick – slagverk samt den bulgariska dragspelsvirtuosen Borislav Zgurovski och österrikisk slagverksvirtuos Claudio Spieler.
Bandets kreativa konsult och speciella samarbetspartner är den bulgariske dragspelaren Borislav Zgurovski från Plovdiv, Bulgarien.
Med två släppa CD-skivor blev deras senaste nominerad till Icelandic Music Awards.
