BELLGATE PEOPLE
Bandet Bellgate People startades i Göteborg 2011 och har sina rötter i Smålands skogar. Det är mellan staden och landsbygden som musiken och texterna rör sig; mellan slamrande indierock och finstämd pop, mellan bultande ljudlandskap och skör stämsång, mellan malande dist och stora melodier.
Bellgate People är mötet med ångesten och resan därifrån, strävan efter hoppet och längtan efter kärlek. Bellgate People släppte sin debut-EP 2013 och singeln ”Gila River” 2016. Bandet har haft en vacklande aktivitet i studion men spelat flitigt i perioder. Bellgate People har turnerat i Israel, Palestina, Tyskland och Grönland.
Det har varit tyst om Bellgate people ett par år nu. Vem vet, kanske är spelningarna i Maj 2024 början på något nytt eller slutet för något gammalt. Oavsett så är bandet otroligt sugna på att möta Göteborg.
PORTO RUBY
Porto Ruby, en musikalisk tolkning av Göteborgs nattliv genom en psykedelisk lens, som tar inspiration från 60-talets stilbildare The Who, The Kinks och Jimi Hendrix bland många andra, bildades i samband av att Jon Fredrikssons tidigare projekt AMP. splittrades. Jon, tidigare känd som Punk-Jon blev lite av en lokalkändis när han som 12-åring drev runt på gatorna, kånkandes på gitarr och förstärkare spelade sina egna versioner av Dead Kennedys tills det att han blev bortkörd av stadens ordningsvakter. Jon rekryterade sedan Adam Jensen från Hisingen på bas och Kim Strömbom på trummor. Adam har tidigare varit basist i musikprojektet Karl Hund och ett flertal andra band inom Göteborgs underground. Kim, har en lite annorlunda, men nog så kvalificerad musikbakgrund som både trumslagare i Hemvärnets orkester och som jazzsymfoniker.
27 mars i år släppte Porto Ruby sin debut dubbelsingel “Ain’t Nuthin’ / Your Bird has Flown” inför deras kommande debut LP Banner Street. Porto Ruby’s Banner Street, som är inspelat sedan länge, i Jons hemkvarter runt Jungfruborgen i Gamlestaden, på kulturhuset Ögat med hjälp av olika personer från kvarteret, är Porto Rubys debutalbum och släpps sommaren 2024.
