Lennart Hall var en banbrytande föreläsare och professor i interpretation vid Högskolan för scen och musik. Ett av kapitlen i hans bok "Repliker" handlar om Beethovens opus 2 nr 2, Pianosonat i A-dur. Här samlas nu en grupp bestående av bl a musiker och skribenter, varav flera är Halls tidigare studenter, för att utifrån olika litterära och musikaliska ståndpunkter behandla och belysa hans analys av sonaten sceniskt. Det blir både begripliga samtal om harmonilärans pariserhjul och spänningen mellan tenuto och staccato, men gruppen frågar sig också: Skrev Beethoven stumfilmsmusik? Sonaten kommer till slut också att framföras i sin helhet.

Högskolan för scen och musik finns i centrala Göteborg och ingår i den Konstnärliga fakulteten vid Göteborgs universitet.
