George Benson, föddes för 80 år sedan i Pittsburgh. Redan som 8-åring sjöng han ute på olika klubbar och restauranger och när han fyllde 17 fick han egentillverkad gitarr av sin styvfar. Han lärde sig fort att spela gitarr och kom ganska snart med i Jack McDuffs band och 1964 albumdebuterade han. Efter att ha spelat in många album fick han ett större genombrott 1976 då han släppte albumet Breezin' . Skivan låg etta på tre av Billboards listor samtidigt, pop, jazz och r&b-listorna. Hans förmåga att så naturligt blanda olika genres och musikstilar och forma det till något eget är bl.a det som gör honom så unik både som gitarrist och sångare. Hans version av ”This Masquerade" släpptes som singel och blev en stor hit i USA. Den vann en Grammy för årets låt. 1977 spelade han in originalversionen av "Greatest Love of All" som senare blev en stor hit för Whitney Houston. 1980 hade han ännu en stor framgång med låten "Give Me the Night" som producerades av Quincy Jones. Han har fortsatt släppa nya album och turnerat in på 2000-talet och man får betrakta honom som en levande legend.
Per Strandberg är en supermusikalisk multiinstrumentalist och sångare med stor kärlek till George Benson. Han har i likhet med George Benson en förmåga att blanda olika genres och musikstilar och alltid frambringa något naturligt och musikaliskt fulländat.
