For the 2nd time in a row The Abyss is hosting the official pre-party for Muskelrock, the strongest festival on planet earth!!! There'll be bands, amazing bands, fantastic Dj's and much, much more....be there to see it and believe it.
So as part of that we are very proud to present to you the legendary ASHBURY for the very first time in Gothenburg. One of the biggest re-discoveries of recent times, Ashbury is a unique band that captures every music lovers heart. Formed in late 70s by brothers Rob and Randy Davis from Tuscon, Arizona. Obscure eighties US Metal/Hard Rock is the description of two very hard-to-find albums: 'Endless Skies' in 1983 and the (belated) follow-up 'Something Funny Going On' first released in 2004. 'Endless Skies' can be described as a timeless and epic album, with every song created to perfection. For lovers of Jethro Tull, Wishbone Ash and similar.
Opening this evenings entertainment comes by way of Germany, a brand new band called Cherokee. This female fronted band draws influence from the rock genre of the late seventies and early eighties. Stylized after Thin Lizzy riffing and Blue Oyster Cult tricks etc...
