Västerdalsmusik på 1700-tals-nyckelharpa
Under min masterutbildning har jag arbetat med att spela polskor och springlekar från västerdalarna på det uppländska instrumentet kontrabasharpan. Det är en äldre typ av nyckelharpa från 1700-talet, med en ålderdomligt skimrande klang där melodierna ackompanjeras av rytmiskt surrande borduntoner.
Jag har använt dansen som ett verktyg för att analysera och förstå repertoaren, och främst arbetat med dansaren Leonora Danzi som har ett eget intresse för traditionen i regionen. Jag har också spelat mycket med folkflöjtist Folke Dahlgren, och jag tycker vi tillsammans har utvecklat ett fint och svängigt samspel.
Min examenskonsert ska vara en föreställning där vi firar västerdalsmusik med dans, spel, och såklart lite bordun!
