I verkstäderna kring Tollered och Nääs fabriker är det full aktivitet - och har så varit sen 1833. Kom hit och upplev levande musik, teater och föredrag - och snart ett museum. Vägg i vägg med Smedjan, i Kulturhuset Smeden & Spindeln smider man nämligen planerna för hur man bäst återger bilder och berättelser. Och för den delen - skapar nya.
Välkommen till en extra festlig dag. Mellan kl. 12-16 är det första öppen inlämning och visning av museelokalen - reda att fyllas med både visioner och föremål. Och kl. 13 och kl. 15 spelas Amerikaresan på scen - en råbarkad bluesberättelse för hela familjen där fantasin får flöda. (Rekommenderat från 5 år)
Marcus Svensson och Petter Eriksson gör som Dramaten och Göteborgsoperan - tonsätter utvandringen till Amerika på 1800-talet, fast med nyskrivna låtar som doftar blues och country.
Vi får följa drängen Gustaf som ger sig av från Småland på en vådlig färd till Amerika på 1800-talet. Gustaf söker äventyret men också ett bättre liv i ett nytt land, något som är lika aktuellt idag som för 150 år sedan. Gustaf tar sig nerför Mississippifloden där han träffar bluestrollkarlar och tampas med alligatorer. Rövarprinsessan Emma blir hans räddning djupt nere i Louisianas träsk.
