Den turkiska rockmusikens guldålder reinkarnerad – i Nederländerna! Den som förälskat sig i samlingsskivor med återupptäckta turkiska 60- och 70-talsinspelningar (Istanbul ’70, Psych Funk A La Turkish med flera) kommer sannolikt inte kunna värja sig mot Altın Güns supersnärtiga rytmer, trancendentala mikrotonssynthar och elektriska sazsolon. Två av gruppens sex medlemmar har bakgrund i Turkiet, men var inte ens födda när artister som Selda, Barış Manço och Erkin Koray skapade soundtracket till en ny, urban turkisk identitet med lika delar anatolisk folkmusik och västerländsk psykrock, funk och disco.
Sedan sin spektakulära konsert på Clandestino Festival 2018 har gruppen släppt två album, och 2019 nominerades de till en Grammy för bästa världsmusikalbum. På senaste fullängdaren Yol möter vi ett band vars sound har utvecklats under månader i lockdown. Med syntar och trummaskiner längre fram i ljudbilden har betoning flyttat mer mot disco än psychrock. Mycket av låtmaterialet är dock fortfarande hämtat från arkaiska källor: Folkmelodier från det ottomanska riket, från Anatolien och Balkan.
Under kvällen spelar även Italo Bitches och Kanot.
