Då och då dyker det upp band som vill definiera något. Sin samtid. En känsla. Ett sätt att ta sig igenom allt. Agitator är just ett sådant band, som inte drar sig för storslagna utsagor och gester som signalerar att mycket, utan motstånd förvandlas till mer.
Nu ska vi fira deras debutskiva "Jag trivs bäst där du är" på det enda stället i stan som förkroppsligar deras musik: Hus 7.
Agitator är ett klassiskt band, som träffats som ett klassiskt band
gör: vänner i som umgås i grupp. Kanske i en replokal i en källare på
Kungsholmen, kanske på ett skakande tåg genom Östeuropa. På samma sätt
som alla medlemmar för med sig sin specifika ingrediens till
häxbrygdskitteln rör sig Agitators låtar i alla möjliga riktningar,
organiskt pulserande. Bandet självt refererar till Joy Division,
22-Pisterpirkko, Kingston, techno, Olle Ljungström, The Cure och EBM.
Debutalbumet "Jag trivs bäst där du är" är producerad av Joakim Lindberg i Aerosol Grey Machine Studio i Skåne.
”Vi har lyckats lura folk till att vi faktiskt spelar techno. Psykedelisk techno men vi spelar bara ljud som vi tycker låter fina. Vi blev ett new waveigt postpunk band som sjunger på svenska. Vi låtsas ogilla saker vi älskar. Vi gillar att bada. Vi gillar att ha en neonslinga i vår replokal så att det känns som att man är i Berlin. Före spelningar går vi runt i cirklar eller sitter ner medans Felix hoppar runt och försöker nudda taket till Tom Waits och Mintu.”
