Bushwick Book Club är ett lika enkelt som genialt koncept: en bok inspirerar artister att skapa och framföra nya verk. Idén föddes i stadsdelen Bushwick i Brooklyn, New York och blev snart en stående succé. 2012 skeppades konceptet över Atlanten till Malmö och nu öppnas äntligen ett nytt kapitel, på Oceanen i Göteborg.
Förvänta dig högt och lågt och alltid helt unika kvällar. Skräddarsydda helheter där olika artister fått läsa samma bok och fritt inspireras. Musikern Thomas Teller och författaren Kristian Carlsson agerar konferencierer och binder ihop kvällen, nystar i den röda tråden, samtalar med artisterna och framför även de nyskrivet material.
Du som publik behöver inte ha läst boken innan, men blir förmodligen sugen på att göra det efter. Bushwick Book Club Göteborg blandar friskt mellan olika genrer och konstformer och jobbar för att skapa roliga, underhållande och avslappnade kvällar men utan att tappa konstnärlig vikt.
Göteborg blir den sjätte staden i världen att husera en "livebokklubb", jämte New York, Seattle, Malmö och Helsingborg samt New Orleans som öppnar dörrarna ungefär samtidigt som Oceanen.

De paranormala aktiviteterna på ett visst hotell är nu en del av vårt kulturarv. Sjuttonhundratalsmänniskan hade Robinson Crusoe på sin isolerade ö och vi har familjen Torrance i en isolerad bergstrakt. Vad skulle du ta med dig till en öde ö? Och vad skulle du ta med dig till ett ensligt hotell? P.S. Även om man sett filmen blir man vettskrämd av boken.
Midaircondo är den avangardistiska och pionjäristiska duon Lisa Nordström och Lisen Rylander Löve. Kända för att skapa suggestiva och detaljrika ljudvärldar. Har gjort en lång rad spännande samarbeten och turnerat med bl.a. José Gonzales.
Indian Spring spelar pop som inte sällan är soldränkt och för det mesta fylld av välsnickrade texter om vardagens och livets gropar och krumsprång.
