Mitt i skarven mellan hopp och förtvivlan står Frida Sundemo. Inbäddad i ekon och omgiven av smattrande synthar känns hon direkt och självklar. Hennes eteriska stämma förklarar för oss att hon vet hur tungt det kan vara. Plötsligt vänds allt upp och ner och hon vrider på allting som går att vrida på. Allt blir till pop och fyrverkerier och hon intalar oss att allt kommer bli bra och hon säger det igen och igen. Och vi tror henne.
I refrängen blir hon en förvissande motor. Stora cinematiska orkestrar samsas med kallt digitala trummor, och i ett vitt sken står Frida. På jorden, mitt i rymden. Hon säger att vi är drömmare, och vi tror henne. Så vi drömmer.
2017 släppte Frida sitt debutalbum ”Flashbacks & Futures”, som är en skiva som inspirerats av rymden, och den är i sig ett vidsträckt universum där både minimalistisk synthpop och storslagna orkesterproduktioner fyllts till bredden med färger och skönjer. På albumet finns även den majestätiska elegans som utmärkt de föregående hyllade singlarna från albumet: ”We Are Dreamers”, “It’s OK” och “Keep An Eye On Me”.
