Capital sound system proudly presents a Jamaican born true legend - the original ROBERT LEE.
Robert started his long and successful career as a singer and performer by singing in the school choir.
His debut came in 1984 with the release of the classic tune: Leader, which was released on the Fishtea label. With another release on the Mass Hugh label he was introduced to King Jammy by John Wayne, Tullo T and Pampidoo and started recording for the Jammys label.
During his time on the Jammys label he made several classic tunes such as: Come Now, Dreams, Love me Style and Midnight Hour feat Bunny General, to name a few.
Robert Lee was the one who introduced Elephant Man to the dancehall masses in the early 90's with two combination tunes: Run For Cover and Hang Them.
During the best part of the 90's Robert kept releasing tunes for Jammys label (alongside a myriad of other labels) and in the late 90's he moved to england where he produced tracks together with Martin Campbell out of Channel One Sound. This led to hits on the Holland charts which led to Robert being awarded best reggae album of the year.
From the early 2010's Robert released a number of heavy hitting tunes on the Tuff Scout label (once again alongside a myriad of other labels).
Robert still operates out of England but travels the world performing on sound systems, recording records and dubs.
Capital Sound System are extremely proud to be able to present the original Robert Lee to the Stockholm sound massive. The 27th of September will be mad! This one is not something you want to miss!
