Big announcement: opening night on the newest and coolest jazz venue in Göteborg! Right at the cultural ground zero at Götaplatsen beside the city theater, museum, concert hall et c on Kungsportsavenyn 38.

The famous night club "Park Lane" in collaboration with Wauxhall Jazz and Göteborg Jazz Orchestra sets a new standard for jazz in Göteborg and starts big on Monday the 4th of March with international jazz trumpeter and singer Peter Asplund as guest of honour.

PETER ASPLUND is one of Sweden’s foremost trumpet players. Or why not say it like it is? He is one of Europe’s or even the world’s foremost trumpeters. Why draw a line when there is no need to? Jazz is not limited by any national borders. In addition he has a singing voice in the great crooner tradition - a complete artist and showman!

"A fantastic musician who always plays straight from the heart" Over the years he has developed his own dynamic, high energy, slightly melancholic and melodic trumpet style. This applies both when he plays a standard by George Gershwin, Cole Porter or Duke Ellington and his own compositions - tunes with a distinct melodic accent.

He has made eight CDs in his own name, been nominated to a Swedish Grammis and received the most prestigious award one can achieve in Swedish jazz, ”Gyllene Skivan" – "Golden Record” for two of his albums ”Lochiel’s Warning” and ”Asplund Meets Bernstein”.

GÖTEBORG JAZZ ORCHESTRA is one of the most exciting movements in Swedish jazz. The big band has made a rocket career and in a short time established on the highest level. In their love to music they always look for new expressions and they attract collaborations with the best musicians - domestic and abroad. They often reach over the genre barriers with new formats.

ALMA ALGANI is a young and very talanted bass player and composer/arranger. She pays tribute to the fantastic music of her role model - the world famous jazz bass player and composer Avishai Cohen in a project called "Ahava Hadasha".
