Could two "vegetable" patients, connected to a life support machines, escape?

Climbing Vegetables is an existential comic drama exploring this ultimate jail in which a patient in vegetative state is being held in, raising important ethical, scientific, as well as personal dilemmas, concerning the rights of a person being in the most helpless state of living, being unable to communicate his wishes, even with a blink of an eye.

The play takes place in a rehabilitation center where two patients diagnosed to be in a vegetative state, find out that then can "telepathically" communicate with one another. This ability does not escape their care takers who hold a special research in order to scientifically discover and describe what can be a great breakthrough in cognitive research and perception. But no progress is being observed and the funds are running out.

Meanwhile the two vegetables, the intellectual Amos, a frustrated poet, who can actually blink and the more unlettered Pinni who does not want to sink into hallucinations caused by a suspected mushroom, he stupidly tasted, when it was left in one of the rooms of the low class motel he worked in, constantly bothers Amos with insane escape plans.
