On the 4th of February, Garden Loops invites you to a winter dinner party at Uppgång&Fall studio (Majorna)

We have prepared a menu inspired by local and seasonal veggies, including the items which were foraged and preserved at the orangery of Gatenhielmska huset in late August.

The evening will open up questions around temporality, preservation, urban food culture vs local food networking, how food is charged historically and politically and new rituals and traditions manifesting the future we dream of <3.

No pre-knowledge is required, any contribution in thoughts, writings, poetry, food is welcome!

Garden Loops is a collective of friends exploring the transgressive power of food in relation to time, place and community. Believing that by submitting to the seasons, and the slowness of growing, harvesting, foraging, preserving, and preparing your own food, - there is more to be gained than delicious food. Garden Loops is a seasonal recurring event, engaging with the public, creating a community around food, place and seasons. By moving away from the alienation of the globalized food system, new connections to place and community can be made.

The projects has so far taken form in one workshop, held at Galthielmska huset on the 27th of August 2022, and one fanzine exploring foraging and fermenting.

The collective consists of Mercé Torres, Aida Urmevi, Poppy Bell and Natalie Blom. Aida is a self-taught cook with an interest in history, anthropology and community based food systems. Mercè is an artist who explores topics such as rural communities, culture, and the relationship to place through food. Poppy and Natalie are architects interested in synergies between ecology, urbanism, culture and architecture.
