Iraqi Bodies / BANDAGED FACE (IRAQ)

Iraqi Bodies explores the link between movement and gesture, between dance and physical theater. Their artistic practice is deeply anchored in the theory and method of Antonin Artuad, Jerzy Grotowski, Eugenio Ionesco, Samuel Beckett and others. By letting the body speak of the trauma of life and the predicament of man their work wishes to transcend any human differences and instead create scenes to show a reality shared by all. A poetic reality that finds the light in the deepest darkness of life. Since 2009 they have created a unique space for themselves on the Swedish performing arts scene performing nationally as well as in theaters and festival across Europe, Middle East and Asia. Their ambition has been to create high standard stage art with honest, sensitive and unique performers. Inviting performers from Iraq, Lebanon, Greece, Italy, France, Holland, Switzerland, Russia and more to Sweden they have contributed to placing Sweden on the map as a place where quality performances are being made. Their work has continued to thrive with annual support from Kulturrådet, Konstnärsnämnden,Västra Götalandsregionen and Göteborgs Stad.

Iraqi Bodies is currently working on their project "Rite of Exile" - taking themes from Dante's "De Vulgari Eloquentia" and "The Divine Comedy". The project is comprised of three larger scale performances/installations dealing with the grand poetic themes of love, war and virtue seen through hell, heaven and purgatory. The project is being developed through residencies at Angereds Teater (SWE), Kungsbacka Teater, Rum för Dans (SWE) and Akropoditi Dance Theater (GR). At Gothenburg Fringe Festival we will perform the fisr part "Bandaged Face" or On War - ane xploration of the theme of war and hell in a fantastical mix of movement, gesture, stilts and more

I am the one researching on the sound deriving from body movement that is the key material connecting through body and mind and nature.

FREE FLOW: I realize this innate flow as it is what makes me exist as I am. I breathe and dance with the sound created by my body movement. I precisely aim at materializing the physicality flowing toward musicality through my body movement and its sound. The sound deriving from body movement not with other material has a rawer and stronger frequency therefore it can be a very direct expression of its energy as it is. In that sense, human body itself can be considered as an acoustically, visually multi dimensional expression complex. This is abstract and primal expression touching unconsciousness. The spiritual depth of sound is not able to be measured consciously, but nevertheless a human body is unconsciously able to recognize a certain depth of sound, what reflects on its level of devotion towards the essence of life.

Blaue Frau - was founded in 2005 as a Finnish fraction of the Nordic Drag-King group SubFrau (subfrau.net. Blaue Frau has done 17 productions in its 11 year history. You might have heard of Blaue Frau performances at Dramaten, Stockholms Stadsteater, Parkteatern, Malmö Sommarscen (“Jag är din flickvän nu 2009 -2010” and Mina vackra Ögon” 2014), or of their festival Pop Up Art House in Helsinki (2012-2014), or of their big tour with Riksteatern and the play Svinalängorna (2009-2010).

WHENEVER THERE ARE PEOPLE TO DANCE, UNTIL THAN WE'RE GONNA - Welcome to an interactive, tempting trip to feminist utopia - international, multilingual. An evening where the boundaries between performer and spectator, fantasy and reality is shifted. Our performance, mixes languages (Polish, Swedish, English) and traditions. It is like a children’s game, where rules can be changed every now and then, because the only limit is unlimited imagination. In our world, there is no inequality, no violence, no fear, everything is possible and dreams are just plans for the future.

Work: This collaboration work of ours deals with the perception of lines of life in general. Just like a set of parallel lines that runs toward the same direction; both of us each have our own sets of individual lines of thoughts, values, networks, exposures and a variety of artistic development over these years. However, we have always been developing under the same vision but our pathway has never crossed until recently. With such proximity, can we detach ourselves from the multiple network of lines growing within and between our lives? How far can we be apart and how close we really are?

Am I there yet? An American road trip and the tales of three cities. 1 man, 3 cities, and lots fun! Seasoned fringe theatre performer, Steven Karwoski, spins his story of three cities - Philadelphia, Los Angeles and San Francisco. This solo man tells of his solo journey across the US, a young man in a old car looking for a new life.Karwoski’s pursuit of work in LA’s entertainment industry results in a personal yet universal one-man odyssey. As he travels from Philadelphia to LA with only a media degree and old car, he crosses several state lines and a few time zones. He also discovers the cultural divide between the old school east coast sensibility and the progressive liberal west coast mindset. While searching for the ‘there’ of ‘Am I there yet?’, he meets allies and villains, sinners and saints, drug dealers and poets. A skilled raconteur, Karwoski offers an endearing, entertaining and insightful tale which reminds viewers no matter the trials and tribulations the journey is meant to be enjoyed. We are confident all will enjoy taking this journey with Karwoski.

THE MAINSTREAM is a anti capitalistic house brand and show company. They are currently based in Gothenburg [SE], Turin [IT] and Dresden [GE]. Progressive house, Electro and Dancehall with lyrics about human rights and anarchy combined with performances of different genres. Last year they released three singles and went touring in Sweden, Norway, Italy, Germany and Romania. Now they just got back from tour in Jordan, with their musical show “REFUGEE SAFARI” that will tour in at least 8 countries 2016-17. Singer and composer Saga Björklund Jönsson is always on stage. Nicola Bremer writes lyrics and plays. Together they create all kinds of performing art with lot of different artists from all over the world. “We don’t wanna own shit ´cause life is priceless!” NAPRAWSKI is a performance company founded by the italian actress and director Gemma Carbone. The company was recently touring in Sweden and Norway with their adaptation of science fiction trilogy “YOU ARE HERE” by Isaac Asimov and Nicola Bremer with music by Saga Björklund Jönsson. Inspired by contemporary philosophers such as Pfaller and Zizeck, they are developing something they call “interpassive theater”.

Anstalten – ”efter mr: grey” är en performativ sandlåda för vuxna där vi säljer grej med tjej, gör söta do-it –yourself-videos och läppsynkar oss genom föreställningen. ”sexuella” trender på en patriarkal arena väcker leklust som fantiserar om en maxad objektifikation där betraktaren självklart ser spektaklet utifrån mannen ögon. Stina Fors född 1989 i Göteborg. Koreograf och dansare som just nu studerar vid SNDO, School for new dance development med avgångsår 2019. Tidigare utbildad vid Kungliga svenska balettskolan i Stockholm 2008. Broadway Dance center New York 2010. Göteborgs Konstskolas Idégestaltning 2014. Medverkat i tidigare festivaler som 13festivalen konstepidemin 2015. RFSU min kropp är min kropp Frilagret 2014. No limit street art festival Borås 2014, PALS, Performance art link Stockholm 2014. Även varit delaktig i Unga Folkteatern Göteborg på scen och i styrelsen. Samt medlem i Anstalten Göteborg som koreograf under produktionn av Diagnos:Baby som visades på Göteborgs dramatiska teater 2014-2015 samt Frilagret 2015 under HBTQ festivalen. I juni i år kommer jag visa mitt avgångsarbete för i år i Amsterdam som nu är i arbetsprocessen under namnet " The one and only concert" En pretantiös koreografisk konsert innehållande synkroniserad ilsken punk, lekfull disco och sexig soul.

Nor I - My Johansson
Nor I is a solo work based on the use of stillness and repetition in Samuel Beckett’s work. Investigating the impact of repetitions on the human body and its traces in stillness, each movement builds upon the next, yet remains caught in an almost claustrophobic state. Reminiscent of a character in Beckett's texts, it leaves the performer lingering between cosmic calm and cosmic chaos, almost as if caught in her own head, repeatedly finding herself repeating stillness, repeatedly repeating.

Danskollektivet Irrbloss bildades på Dans och Cirkushögskolan 2015. Verket Stuck in Movement utforskar motsättningen i att vara statisk i något rörligt. Är det möjligt att vara fast i rörelse? Vad innebär det att befinna sig i ett ständigt pågående? Under våren 2016 turnerade föreställningen Stuck in Movement i Sverige.

Daddy Issues = en nedsättande term som används för att beskriva beteendet hos unga kvinnor som attraheras av och/eller har sexuella relationer med äldre män.

Daddy Issues är en föreställning om äldre män, de unga kvinnorna som älskar dem, och omvärlden som tycker att dessa kvinnor är dumma i huvudet.

Monologen är baserad på självbiografiska upplevelser, och pendlar mellan humor och allvar.
Vi möter drömmande flickor, speedade moralister och skamfyllda kvinnor, i berättelser om att konstant bli fråntagna tolkningsföreträdet för sin egen sexualitet.
